Mohau Nkota Returns to Orlando Pirates on Season-Long Loan from Al-Ettifaq
After a stint in the Saudi Pro League, 21-year-old winger Mohau Nkota is back at the Buccaneers on loan, looking to revive his career.
Orlando Pirates have officially announced the return of winger Mohau Nkota on a season-long loan from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
Nkota originally moved to Saudi Arabia in July of last year following a breakout campaign with the Buccaneers. During his debut season abroad, he made 22 appearances, netting two goals and providing three assists before an unfortunate injury stalled his momentum. The setback also kept him out of Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite strong links to rivals Kaizer Chiefs, Nkota chose a return to his mother club, where he first made a household name for himself in South African football. Both clubs confirmed the move on social media, with Al-Ettifaq wishing the 21-year-old well as he heads back to Soweto.
Nkota will now look to recapture his stellar form and secure regular game time under the Orlando Pirates banner.
