Federal inmate records indicate that Sean “Diddy” Combs could be released from prison earlier than previously projected. According to data from the federal Bureau of Prisons reviewed by Billboard, the 56-year-old hip-hop mogul is now scheduled for release on Feb. 5, 2028.

This latest adjustment moves his freedom date up by a few weeks compared to recent estimates, and several months ahead of the June 2028 projection posted last November.

Combs is currently serving a four-year and two-month prison sentence at a New Jersey federal corrections facility following his conviction last year on federal prostitution charges tied to accusations involving coerced sex parties.

Because he spent a year behind bars awaiting trial and his verdict, Combs was already credited with time served. However, this new February 2028 date means he would serve roughly two years and four months post-sentencing—an even shorter stay than initially calculated.

Federal Bureau of Prisons release dates are projections and can shift based on various factors. The earlier date could be tied to potential placement in a halfway house or residential reentry center for the final months of his sentence, or participation in programs like the BOP’s drug abuse rehab, which can reduce sentence lengths.
