PEOPLE reports that the rapper, née Joe Cartagena, appeared in a promo for an upcoming episode of Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk, where he disclosed an emotional moment he shared with Weezy before Joe served jail time.

“I was like, ‘Yo Wayne, what’s up?’ And he was like, ‘I’m just telling you right now, be humble.,’” the Jealous One’s Envy rapper said, detailing a phone call he received from the New Orleans emcee.

“And I said, ‘Well, how do you do it?’ and he said, ‘Just be humble, bro. If you’ll be humble, they’ll respect you.’”

According to Justice.gov, in 2013, Fat Joe was sentenced to four months in federal prison for failing to file income tax returns of $3.3 million in earnings. The “Lean Back” rapper was also ordered to pay a hefty $15,000 fine.

Cartagena, 52, also disclosed that he visited Wayne in jail in 2010, where he saw “one of the saddest things” ever.

“One of the saddest things I ever did was go visit Lil Wayne in jail,” Joe expressed to the Smith matriarchy. “Not only that, but they had him chained up. Lil Wayne. They had him in shackles and all that. They had him like he was [a] killer.”

Weezy, also known as Dwayne Carter Jr., served jail time in 2010, spending eight months on Rikers Island for gun charges.

Carter pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with a gun discovered on his tour bus back in 2007.

Elsewhere, Fat Joe has recently gifted Zion Williamson his very own Terror Squad chain.

On Oct. 19, the Loyalty artist gifted the New Orleans Pelicans phenom with an icy welcome-back present. TMZ reported that the chain was custom-made by Avi Davidov, owner of New York City’s Pristine Jewelers.

The 22-year-old was joyous upon receiving the gift and face-timed Crack to thank him.

Snoop’s PBR, Renegade Piranha, claimed that the new owner of Death Row Records likes to smoke at least a half-pound a day — the equivalent of 75 to 150 joints.

“I calculate it at over 450,000,” Piranha estimated on the Australian radio show The Kyle and Jackie O Show. She also claimed that the “Dogg Father” hardly travels anywhere without a blunt on deck around the 01:36-mark below.

In 2013, Snoop did reveal that he faced 81 blunts per day on Twitter, although it wasn’t confirmed if that was factual or not. He also spoke on The Howard Stern Show in 2019 alongside Seth Rogen where he revealed what being a PBR entailed.

In June, Snoop seemingly confirmed that his PBR makes more than $50,000 as he claimed he had given his employee a raise. He didn’t disclose the exact salary, but when the official UberFacts Twitter account claimed the PBR’s annual salary was somewhere between $40,000 to $50,000, Snoop responded with “Inflation. Their salary went up!!”

Besides cannabis, the businessman recently became the new owner of his former label Death Row Records — the same label responsible for his acclaimed 1993 debut album Doggystyle. He also revealed on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast that he and Dr. Dre have been working on an album tentatively titled Missionary. The project is slated to release later this month.

According to numerous reports, the three-year-old drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s Banana Island residence in Lagos State while Davido and Rowland were away at a family gathering.

Just a few days ago, Rowland had shared a birthday tribute to her son on her Instagram feed.

The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday said eight domestic workers were brought in for questioning in connection with the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development to our correspondent, said the domestic workers’ narrations would assist the command in ascertaining the circumstances surrounding the death of the three-year-old boy.

Hundeyin, however, said anyone not found culpable would be released immediately, adding the ones found culpable of negligence would be held back to assist the command in the ongoing investigation.

Hundeyin said, “His (Ifeanyi’s) death is confirmed. His (Davido’s) domestic workers have been brought in for questioning and anybody found not culpable will be allowed to go immediately.

“About eight of them were brought in to narrate their version of what happened to assist us in getting what really happened.

“At the end of their narrations, whoever that is found not guilty of negligence or not culpable in anyway will be allowed to go.

“Anybody found culpable will stay back to assist us in further investigation. The domestic workers are about eight that were brought in.”

However, since the news of Ifeanyi’s rumored death became public knowledge, Nigerians, particularly entertainment lovers, had been outraged and traumatised by the development.

A number of celebrities, have posted cryptic messages that appear to confirm the death of Ifeanyi. Some of which are comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, radio personality Daddy Freeze among others.

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Daddy Freeze, who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning said, “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight.”

Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”

Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”

As of 1.28am, news of Ifeanyi’s rumored death was the most trending topic on Twitter.

The rumored death, however, emanated from a now deleted post from actress, Eniola Badmus, late Monday.

Nigerians, while reacting to Badmus’ post, criticised her for leaking such sensitive information to the public.

According to The Verge, the tech mogul wants to charge people $19.99 a month for the new Twitter Blue subscription, which currently stands at $4.99 a month. And based on the outlet’s sources, one of the benefits of the new subscription package will include verification on Twitter. For users who are currently verified, they will have to subscribe 90 days after the current plan is put into place, or risk losing their blue checkmark.

Perhaps more jarring than the new subscription model is the deadline that Musk has allegedly put in place. Per The Verge, Musk has given employees until November 7 to put this new plan into place. If they fail to meet that date, they’ll be fired.

While the move may come as a surprise to some, Musk has previously hinted that he would make such a change.

During an appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning on Tuesday, 50 Cent ​​​​​shared his thoughts on Kanye West’s recent series of antisemitic remarks.

“When you watch the whole Kanye thing play out, what are your thoughts on sort of the monolith, the way he sort of has been describing Jews as this big agenda?” co-host Peter Rosenberg asked. “’Cause I know you have relationships with all different kinds of Jewish people.”

“I think he’s in a dangerous area,” 50 replied at the 36-minute mark of the interview above. “I forgive him for the things that he said, because I’ve already identified when something’s going on that I don’t understand.”

In regards to Ye’s behavior over the past few years, Fif admitted there’s “nothing for me to say about it though.”

The melody in his new song “Poland” is bizarre, to say the least, which is exactly why it’s blowing up on TikTok, meme pages, and most other corners of the internet right now.

Over a synthy beat from F1lthy (Yeat, Playboi Carti), Yachty delivers a fairly simple hook (“I took the wock to Poland”) but it’s the way he says it that’s getting everyone’s attention. Adding an exaggerated warble to his voice, it almost sounds like he’s singing into a fan. Or maybe laying in a massage chair? Practicing for the opera?

However he did it, it’s oddly catchy and it doesn’t sound like anything else we’ve heard this year (or maybe ever).

Naturally, it’s already going viral. There are videos of people literally singing into fans and imagining the wild studio sessions that could have led to Yachty’s unusual vocals. There’s even a Renaissance painting of Yachty taking giant bottles of lean to Poland (wock is short for Wockhardt, a pharmaceutical company that makes a popular codeine and promethazine cough syrup). “Poland” is a few things. For one, it’s basically a TikTok cheat code: a lighthearted 83-second SoundCloud upload that sounds like a half-finished joke at first, until its sneakily addictive melody climbs inside your brain and never leaves. It’s the kind of line you’ll find yourself singing along to throughout the day, without even realizing it. And, most importantly, it’s a reminder of just how good Lil Yachty is when he lets himself get weird and try something new.

Listening to “Poland,” I can’t help but think back to hearing 2016’s Lil Boat mixtape for the first time, marveling at his confidence to try crazy shit like the high-pitched, playful melody in “Minnesota.” He wasn’t attempting to be cool, and he definitely wasn’t following anyone else’s wave, which is what made it so appealing. Even his haters had to admit what he was doing was original.

Unfortunately, in the months and years immediately following Lil Boat, he was hit with relentless criticism from radio show hosts, bloggers, and old traditionalist rap fans who didn’t like his playful attitude or simplistic lyrics. (On  Everyday Struggle, Joe Budden even got upset with him for being so happy.) With the success of early hits like “One Night” and “Minnesota,” he became a symbol for “mumble rap,” and received backlash from anyone who didn’t appreciate the direction rap was evolving in.

Around that time, in 2017, his sound started to change a little. He released hard-hitting songs like “X Men,” where he rapped almost too fast, as if trying to prove to his doubters that he could really spit. At times, he pulled off the style, but it came at the cost of the playful originality that made Lil Boat so special. A lot of the fun was sucked out of his music and, as a result, his debut studio album Teenage Emotions was uneven, disappointing many fans.

Since then, Yachty has taken a winding path as he’s grown as an artist, including successful attempts at tapping into regional rap pockets like Detroit, Michigan. And, more recently, he’s shown signs of wanting to take chances and try wild new sounds, revealing that his next album will be “a psychedelic alternative project” that he describes as “different.”

Then, out of nowhere, “Poland” leaked. It immediately caught fire on social media, prompting Yachty to (wisely) put the song on his own SoundCloud page and capitalize on the hype. It’s short (one verse) and sounds unfinished, leaving hope that there could be a full version that will hit DSPs sometime in the future. More than anything, though, it’s a sign that Yachty might be fully back in his IDGAF bag and we could be in store for another wildly inventive album from him soon. At least that’s the hope.

Six years after the release of Lil Boat, Yachty has proven to have more longevity than most of his peers from that era. It’s a reminder of what can happen when you have fun and try off-the-wall shit.

Condemning attacks on media personnel when the leadership of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) called on him on Wednesday evening, President Akufo-Addo said: “I don’t condone any attacks on any journalist even those who abuse me.”

He said he preferred a noisy and mischievous press to a sycophantic one.

He explained that journalists have to feel safe to go about their work because of what they do for the country and the community as their work was extremely important.

He said he preferred the current kind of press in Ghana which is very active and vibrant especially, the diversity and proliferation which had made the presence of the media felt in every corner of the country.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated that there could be no press freedom if systematically journalists were always afraid for their lives

Armed Suale

He described as unfortunately the fact that despite very widespread efforts made the Criminal Investigation Division of the Ghana Police Service, they have not been able to lay hands on the perpetrators of Suale’s death.

He said that it was worrying because without the findings, it was difficult to ascertain the reasons behind the killing, whether it was because of his work as a journalist or for other reason.

Responsible Journalism

President Akufo-Addo opined that the concept of responsible journalism was extremely important for the welfare of the country and that most people were sensitive about the capacity of the media to generate its own information.

He said the media’s capacity and position to independently verify the truth or otherwise of what state actors and others were also saying so that the population was not denied any informed scrutiny of the claims that were being made was crucial.

Welfare

Regarding decline in the ratings of the country in press freedom index, he wondered why it was like that because he did not know of many countries in Africa with such proliferation of independent media outlets like what pertained in Ghana.

When the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah explained that the country’s downgrading was because the ratings was more about welfare of journalist, President Akufo-Addo said “if it is that it is about the condition of journalists, well, I can understand it”.

He said this was because journalists in Ghana were notoriously not well paid and that it was the collective responsibility of all to ensure that was addressed.

He assured the association that he would grace the GJA awards night.

The President of the GJA, Albert Dwumfour said this year’s GJA awards night scheduled for November 12, was on the theme “Walking the Path Towards Ghana’s Economic Recovery – The Role of the Media”.

He said the topic sought to highlight the essential role of the media in the present challenging socio-economic circumstances and how best the media could help in the economic recovery efforts.

He called on the President to revive his annual media Encounter’ series to enable him share thoughts on pertinent national issues with the media and to also enable the media express their concerns about the operations of the government.

He expressed worry about the welfare of journalists and said the association was engaging media owners as to how best to address the situation and urged government to also do its part in saving the Ghana Broadcasting from collapse.
