In an exclusive clip from Katie Miller’s podcast, the “Super Bass” singer explained how she “couldn’t handle” witnessing Trump being the victim of “bullying” by the general public.

“Religious freedom is something that’s very important to me,” Minaj said when asked what issues specifically drew her into the conservative world. “But if I’m being honest, President Trump … because when I saw how he was being treated over and over and over, I just couldn’t handle it.”

She added, “I felt that same, you know, a lot of that bullying in this man’s campaign, and all of the lying. I felt that that had been done to me for so many years, and I was watching it in real time happen to someone else, and I didn’t think he deserved it. And it made me think, I can’t do this anymore.”

Minaj and Trump went viral Wednesday after they were photographed holding hands at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit. On social media, Minaj called herself Trump’s “number one fan.”

During the podcast interview, Minaj admitted her recent affinity for the political sphere isn’t as new of a pursuit as it may appear.

“I think that people’s steps are aligned,” Minaj told Miller. “I used to always tell people this when I was growing up, but like, I had this strong premonition my whole life that I had a second job to do. And this was, by the way, this was before I even made it in rap.”

The “Anaconda” musician confessed that there was still something inside of her that said she had “another thing to do” outside the industry, and practically manifested her entrance into the political forum.

When asked to explain the incident, Minaj hesitated to give more details.

“I don’t want to talk about it, but I’ll say that sometimes people can push you so much that they push you all the way into your next calling, into your next blessing, into your next life,” she said. “And that’s what happened with me.”

As you know . YNW Melly has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Cops say the rapper shot two of his friends back in October, then staged the crime scene to look like a drive-by shooting.

According to new legal docs,the State intends to seek the death penalty against Melly.

In the docs, the State says it believes it can prove beyond reasonable doubt that Melly killed his friends for financial gain, the murder was especially heinous, atrocious or cruel, and he committed homicide in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner. The State also believes Melly is a criminal gang member.

As we’ve reported … cops say YNW Melly and his friend, Cortlen Henry, shot victims Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. in the head, torso and back. Police say Melly and Henry shot up their own car to make it look like a drive-by, and then dropped the victims off at the ER, where they were pronounced dead.

Florida is one of 30 States where capital punishment is legal.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Crisis Response Team confirmed the news on Sunday night, saying, “Today we lost a great musician, Nipsey Hussle.” It said it was “consoling and offering support to the family.”

Police sources said Hussle was shot multiple times in the parking lot at Marathon Clothing on West Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles at about 3:25 p.m. and that he was pronounced dead at a hospital. One of the other men was being treated at a hospital, and the third man declined treatment, Los Angeles police Lt. Chris Martinez said.

No other information was immediately available, but just a couple of hours before, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, had tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”

A large crowd of people, many of them crying, gathered at the intersection as police and media helicopters whirred overhead.

One of them was Matthew Talley of Denver, the engineer and director known as Megatron.

“It ain’t just Los Angeles. He was an inspiration that was bigger than Los Angeles,” Talley said. “You see all these people out here? …

“He was really cool,” Talley said. “He was a dope individual every time I met him.”

Hussle’s debut studio album, “Victory Lap” was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Hussle had long been associated with the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, one of Los Angeles’ largest street gangs, which he publicly acknowledged in a 2010 interview with Complex magazine.

In more recent years, however, Hussle had developed an interest in technology and community development, and he was part of a team of artists and entrepreneurs who developed Destination Crenshaw, an open-air museum devoted to honoring African-American artistic achievement.

“In our culture, there’s a narrative that says, ‘Follow the athletes, follow the entertainers,'” he told the Los Angeles Times last year. “And that’s cool, but there should be something that says, ‘Follow Elon Musk, follow [Mark] Zuckerberg.’

“I think that with me being influential as an artist and young and coming from the inner city, it makes sense for me to be one of the people that’s waving that flag,” he said.

Hussle was also an investor in Vector 90, a co-working space in South Central Los Angeles, where young people can take classes in science, technology and mathematics. He called the center a “bridge between Silicon Valley and the inner city,” saying at last year’s Afrotech conference that he hoped to expand to other cities, like Atlanta, Washington and Baltimore.

In an interview last year with Forbes, Hussle said that as a youth, he’d fallen prey to the “ignorance and self-destructiveness in the narrative that was pushed on us through music in our generation.”

“I see how damaging that was, for myself included, and we’re all subject to the social pressure,” he said. “I wasn’t above it. Each of us are impacted by what’s going on around us. For me, understanding the platform I have and who it speaks to, it’s about being strategic. …

“I wanted to redefine the lifestyle and what we view as important,” he said. “When you hear ‘buy back the block’ as the narrative, that’s powerful. That’s a step towards redefining the expectation.”

Hussle and two co-owners opened Marathon Clothing in June 2017 as a “smartstore,” complete with a smartphone app on which fans could buy exclusive content and products.

“I wanted to open up a brick and mortar physical retail in this area and thought, ‘What’s the trajectory and likelihood of being successful as e-commerce grows?'” he said in an interview with Billboard at the time.

Hussle said his goal was to “create a theme park for the brand.”

“We haven’t seen that in hip-hop,” he said. “We haven’t seen someone create a real-world place where the brand lives and there’s products.”

Hussle’s death deeply shook the worlds of music and sports, in which he was seen as an inspirational figure.

8:35 AM PT — State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office says, “After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case.”

The statement is consistent with what our sources said about Jussie only getting community service if he’d been convicted. The decision is NOT sitting well with Chicago PD.

On the other hand, Jussie’s co-workers on “Empire” are celebrating on Twitter

Jussie Smollett will not be prosecuted for allegedly faking a racial attack, because all charges have been dropped!!! Jussie and his lawyers will address the media at 8:45 AM PT.

Jussie and his lawyers ran to court Tuesday morning in Chicago, where he was facing 16 felony counts of lying to police in the alleged racial and homophobic attack.  

Jussie will surrender his $10,000 bond. But, that’s it. The case is over.

We’re told the State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx, told Chicago police she was dropping the case because Jussie would have only gotten community service if convicted and she said he has already performed community service so there is no point in prosecuting him. We could not find any record of Smollett doing community service.

We’re told Chicago police are “furious” and feel something untoward is going on with Kim Foxx. 

Jussie’s lawyers say, “Today, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him.
